If pieces of food are left unknowingly between the teeth, these spaces of your teeth cannot be sufficiently cleaned by the toothbrush. By scraping your tongue while or after brushing and flossing your teeth, a person will be able to eliminate that bacteria build up on the tongue and thereby eliminate a large contributor to their bad breath.
