Cleaning upholstery may seem intimidating, but it’s really not hard if you have a little bit of direction. The main thing you want to consider is how to not ruin your furniture. You may want to check for colorfastness with a wet, white cloth or pillowcase by rubbing it gently on an inconspicuous area. If you have a microfiber, suede or leather couch, you’ll want to call the manufacturer and follow their cleaning instructions.

For most regular upholstery, you can clean it with a solvent based cleaner and a hot wash cloth. Solvent based cleaners are actually degreasers. A lot of what looks like dull or dirty spots on furniture is actually an accumulation of body oils or greasy hands that touched your couch or chair after someone ate. These oily spots attract dirt and dust, and may also grow some mold or simply oxidize after a while, leaving a black or dark discoloration.

It is the best to use some cleanser without chemical. You can consider and find out the type of fabric, so you can have different solutions in order to clean. For example, some fabric you can simply clean it by using clean hot water, it is easy and safe. While some other types of fabric are hard to clean, in that way, you need to use fabric per-treatment sprays. This is designed for you to get out upholstery stains. Some oily part on the cloth can be cleaned through that treatment.

I personally clean my closet and furniture in three times. First time I will use cleaning spray, spray on the furniture where the oil is, because the oil are very easy to attract dust. Waite for a few minute after put on the spray left a bit of time for chemical to interact. Then the second time, you can use a wet tower, to wipe off the cleaning sprays. It is the best to use hot tower, because it can be much easier to wipe off distinct. The third time, I will just use dry tower to wipe off waters that still left on the furniture. Follow the three steps, you can clean the furniture in a very efficient way, and left it in clean for a long period of time.

Hanger your garments after you clean it by using coat hangers or wooden hangers. If you’re worried about damaging your furniture, you can always call a professional. It actually isn’t a huge job for them and you might be surprised how cheap it can be.
