Most people think that yoga is primarily a weight loss and maintenance program , but the fact is that this ancient system of mind-body health can do wonders for cancer patients. This relatively recent trend of yoga , including a full set of cancer treatment because of its therapeutic properties, is welcomed worldwide with proven results .


Perhaps even worse than the physical discomfort of a cancer patient , is the effect of the disease on their emotional and mental well-being . Faced with a changing situation living with cancer brings so much negativity, it is natural that most patients often come in anxiety mode and are very stressed .

According to a study conducted at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer, 61 women who had undergone surgery for breast cancer center were divided into two test groups . If the basic principle of yoga remains the same, there are now several different versions and interpretations adopted by the yogis. Each of these versions is an addition made to the original concept of yoga.


For patients and cancer survivors, there are types of yoga or specific groups of patients. Since the body of a cancer survivor goes through a lot during treatment , it becomes necessary to ensure that the asanas and pranayama not cause discomfort or exercise the body as well. Gentle yoga adapted helps to get rid of all the toxins accumulate in the treatment also further dispel the tension, stress and anxiety.
