The yard is another place that you have to pay close attention to when you are making the designs. The yard should be big enough for the detainees to be rounded up whenever there are activities or emergencies. The police should be able to make rounds on the yard while the detainees are rounded up too.
There should be a workshop in the prisons. This is because most of the detainees will have to work in preparation for their release. When they work, they need to have a place conducive for their work. The workshop should be filled with the tools that are necessary for the detainees to use for their works or their projects.
There is the comfort room too. This is the place where the prisoners will be doing their personal business like urinating, taking a dump, or showering. It is important to have the comfort rooms at least a bit comfortable for the prisoners. It should be designed with the plumbing system and other systems in mind.
You will also have to pay close attention to the designs of the visiting area. You have to make sure that the detainees will have a nice place where they can meet up with their loved ones who have come to visit them. The place should be a convenient place so that the two parties can talk with each other without any worries.
The office of the warden as well as all the other police who are guarding the detainees should be properly designed so that they can work on their tasks without any problems. You should make sure to put their rooms in areas convenient for them to watch over the detainees. It should also be safe for them to stay in the said room.
Another room you have to pay close attention to when you are designing is the mess hall. Basically, the mess hall is the place where the detainees will be eating their meals. Since this is where the detainees will be gathering together during mealtime, you better make sure that there are enough chairs and tables there.
